Cooking is all the rage. You invite some good friends, prepare a delicious meal together and enjoy the whole thing in a cosy atmosphere within your own four walls. To reflect the trend in kitchen personalisation, in the spring of this year Schock had already presented a fresh and brightly coloured granite sink collection encompassing four vibrant colourways: Sunflower, Peppermint Green, Ocean Blue and Pink. Inspired by pop art, these shades have now been joined by the radiant Bright Orange . This addition produces many new and contrasting variations in kitchen styling, giving our customers an exceptional opportunity to express their own personality in the design of their kitchen.

The new Bright Orange accent tone, like the other refreshing colourways, is available with the Nemo N-100S model in CRISTALITE PLUS. Schock launches new colourways for sinks

 

Granite sink manufacturer Schock is putting four new and refreshing sink colourways on the market. In line with its slogan, “colour your ways”, the company has developed a new colour collection that unmistakably follows the trend towards kitchen personalization and is the perfect complement for kitchen cabinet door and drawer fronts in solid colours.

A fresh, sunflower yellow, vibrant peppermint green, deep ocean blue and bright shade of pink can be installed as a colourful design element in the kitchen. The colours are taken straight from nature and convey a spring-like and fresh ambience – they are anything but loud and dominant

Franke has introduced the stunning Pebel sink to complement the growing trend for soft curves in the kitchen.

In both single and 1½ bowl models,
the sink is made from Fragranite incorporating Sanitized®. On unprotected surfaces, bacteria can multiply every 20 minutes. The Sanitized ® hygiene solution in Fragranite sinks helps provi­de lasting protection. It does not replace normal cleaning but helps to keep surfaces free from bacteria. Tests have proven that Fragranite treated with Sanitized ® reduces bacteria and microbe growth by 99%. Sanitized ® is mixed into the bulk material – not applied as a coating – so it will last for the life of the sink.

Perfect Planar from Franke

The beautiful new Planar Slim-Top sink from Franke is sure to make a style statement in any streamlined, minimalist kitchen. Probably one of the most geometric drainer sinks on the market today, the Planar, which is available in single and one and a half bowl models, boasts a slim edge flat profile for an almost seamless transition with your worktop.

With zero radii bowls and plain drainer, the Planar also incorporates a square pop up waste control. Also available are a Rollamat and Food Preparation Platter to optimise the practicality of the station.

 

 

The bigger picture from Franke

Franke has developed an exciting new Largo sink that’s ergonomically designed to maximise every millimetre of your kitchen sink space. The result is a spacious bowl - which is 410mm front to back - that fits into a standard 600mm cabinet. Part of the Franke Specialist range of sinks and taps, the new Largo LAX 110 50-41 boasts ultra-modern looks and generous proportions.

The Largo LAX 110 50-41 is a valuable addition to the extensive Largo portfolio. Measuring 500 x 410 x 175mm, the sink is ideal for the cleaning of large pots and pans and its Stainless Steel silk finish is resistant to staining, chipping, rust and corrosion and is also extremely easy to keep clean.

For extra finishing touches for the customer, complementing accessories, specifically designed to fit the Largo LAX 110 50-41’s dimensions, can be bought separately and include a Stainless Steel Strainer bowl as well as a Maple Chopping Board and Rollamat.

 

 

The temperature is rising in the kitchen! 

Waiting for the kettle to boil is set to be a thing of the past with the Minerva from Franke. This new, cutting edge tap, in chrome or SilkSteel PVD, means boiling water is available instantly at the twist of a handle. Whether it’s making tea or coffee, cooking spaghetti or poaching an egg, this tap makes life really easy.

The Minerva provides hot, cold and boiling water from one unit for complete convenience. Boiling the kettle can be a waste of water and time; with the Minerva, only the water required is used - meaning savings in water and electricity. The hot water tank can be fitted behind a standard 150mm plinth so it will not take up valuable space in the kitchen – the perfect choice for saving precious space in kitchen cabinets.

The system incorporates a water conditioning filter ensuring boiling water quality. It can also be fitted new or retrospectively and requires a standard 35mm taphole.

John Swain, Product Manager, comments, “This tap is an innovation. It has one spout whereas many of the others on the market have separate boiling water taps and do not reach 100°c. This tap is also safe; it has a safety button which needs to be activated to allow the boiling water to be discharged.’

 

 

 A perfect portfolio of traditional taps

Introduced earlier this year, the new Portfolio 55 collection from Franke is an exclusive range of taps designed for the style conscious consumer who demands quality products for the kitchen. There is a total of fourteen taps in the Portfolio 55 range, four of which are traditional timeless designs – the Verona, Venician, Vecchio and Rialto.

The Venician model has a graceful swan neck spout with white levers. It has a spout reach of 193mm

Award winning Blancoculina-S

Having already walked away with four top design awards* since its introduction in Germany last Autumn, the Blancoculina-S looks set to take the discerning UK tap market by storm, following its launch at KBB 2012.

Designed by the company’s own design team, the exceptionally tall and elegant Blancoculina-S is notable for its design details, especially the magnetic hose cradle. A magnet instantly releases the splash-free spray hose when needed – and secures it again just as quickly when it is no longer required.

The spray itself can be changed simply by the touch of a button, transforming it from a regular flow to a spray and back again. The tap spout has an extra-wide rotation arc, opening up a number of installation possibilities with various bowl configuratons - including between undermount bowls.

Rangemaster’s Fire-Clay Ceramic range

Constructed from ceramic , fired at extremely high temperatures, Rangemaster fire-clay ceramic sinks provide superior strength and look stunning with a high gloss finish and are renowned for being hygienic and incredibly easy to clean. Offering traditional country kitchen style Bulter sinks to the ultra contemporary Nevada in a black gloss finish with sloped drainer, the fire-clay range caters for a number of kitchen styles.

Technically advanced polymers, such as Neostone and Metallix are not only durable, scratch and impact-resistant, but are also easily wiped clean and heat resistant to 230°C, coping effortlessly with searing pans, hot liquids and practically all household chemicals. Made from 1.2mm thick stainless steel, the sink measures 254mm deep and 700mm wide, with a 180mm width half bowl

 

 

 

New additions! 

From this bestselling family of stainless steel sinks, which are hugely popular due to the larger bowls, comes the newly-configured range of Largo undermounted sinks. The range has been extended with three new models to cover all requirements, so that there are more options available for the retailer or designer.

Part of Franke’s high-end Specialist range of sinks and taps, the three new models – LAX 120 45-30, LAX 120 36-36 and LAX 160 36-16 – boast ultra-modern looks with generous proportions. Available in a Silk finish, these sinks are resistant to staining, chipping, rust and corrosion and are also extremely easy to keep clean.

This range of sinks also boasts a new shallower Low Profile Semi-Integrated Waste and Hygienic Overflow. This new waste, with a reduced depth and a solid stainless steel plug, saves space in the cabinet, allowing more room for cleaning products. The new Hygienic Overflow increases cleanliness in the kitchen. The detachable plate allows boiling water to be poured into the overflow to remove any bacteria, while the rigid overflow pipe reduces the likelihood of deposits.

For that extra finishing touch, the extremely useful Franke Rollamat can be bought separately. This flexible little helper provides a draining and defrosting surface and heavy objects and hot pans can be placed on it. The Rollamat can be easily rolled up and stored away when not in use.

 

Getting into the spirit!

Adding to its stunning collection, Franke has introduced the Spirit, a quirky, angular tap which exudes contemporary style and makes a statement in the kitchen. Available in two finishes - Chrome and SilkSteel - this individual design has been launched to complement a wide range of undermount sink models.

New Qubix tap from Carron Phoenix cuts a sophisticated look

With glamour returning to bathroom brassware, Carron Phoenix has followed suit for the kitchen market with its brand new Qubix tap.

Cutting a decidedly sophisticated look, the Qubix tap features a slim flat spout that dispenses water in an elegant waterfall fashion with a simple twist of its unobtrusive quarter-turn handles. In contrast to arc-shaped styles, the line of the Qubix spout carves a gentle square shape that is 250 mm high and being slim and narrow sits discreetly behind the sink, giving a very streamlined aesthetic. The Qubix design works especially well with Carron’s contemporary undermounts in the Deca and Tetra ranges.

Qubix comes in chrome and brushed nickel, adding to the exclusive look and feel of the design. Qubix is one of the 11 new tap additions to Carron’s new product offer for 2009. The broadened tap offer of 24

Black magic with Franke

The Rolux tap from Franke exudes contemporary style, emitting bright LED light which adds atmosphere and a dramatic air to any kitchen. A white light illuminates the water delivery creating a stunning visual effect. Even when the water is turned off, the appearance is equally striking as the LED acts as ambient lighting in the kitchen.

The 2010 portfolio includes two variants of the Rolux which have been developed to answer specific market demands. The tap now comes in a black finish to contrast with Stainless Steel, and complement Black Ceramic and Glass sinks. The other innovation is the existing chrome model which is now available without the pullout spray.

The newest generation of sinks from Franke is the Peak range for good-looking, super hygienic workstations. These clever sinks show off Franke’s technical prowess like nothing else – the pressed bowls have tight 5mm corner radii giving the appearance of a true 90 degree corner yet with all the hygienic advantages.

International awards for BLANCO

Once again, BLANCO’s innovative approach to sink design has won international acclaim from the Industrie Forum Design in Hanover , with not one, but two of the new sinks for 2010 scooping awards.

BLANCO President, Achim Schreiber, attributes the success to an ongoing policy of ‘putting our faith in an experienced, highly-motivated in-house team of experts – designers, product managers and developers.’

The first award went to BLANCORonis-iF. The design adds extra volume to a stainless steel round sink with its very generous-dimensions – an extra-wide and extra deep bowl with a concise radius - and inspired accessories which ensure the space can be used for much more than just doing the dishes. It also has the popular BLANCO low profile iF rim with its flush-fit appearance, keeping the overall look sleek and streamlined. The glass cutting board fits into the rim of the sink rotating at 360degrees, and the BLANCO Carrier complete with two stainless steel bowls, can be taken to the oven or hob.

The second sink to catch the attention of the judges is the BLANCOAlaros. Made from BLANCO’s new coloured sink material, Silgranit® Puradur® II, and available in all ten Silgranit colours, the beauty of the lies in its perfect symmetry. A spacious bowl is set centrally between two symmetrical drainers. Here again, imaginative accessories increase the practical possibilities. The large central single bowl has a tap ledge flanked by two draining areas.

The sink and tap ledge sit slightly below the draining areas, and the accessories include two glass boards which slide partially over the sink when it is not in use, increasing the workspace. The sink can be used with any tap, but when combined with the BLANCOEloscope F-11 tap, also featured, the tap can be lowered so that the two glass boards fit completely over both the sink and tap.

 

A further enhancement from Franke

The Franke Ariane undermount range of sinks now boasts the new shallower Low Profile Semi Integrated Waste and Hygienic Overflow.

The innovation has improved continuous overflow capacity, while the reduced depth, saving 32mm, means there is more space in the cabinet below. With a solid stainless steel plug, the waste is resistant to all standard household chemicals so will remain looking perfectly pristine even after years of service.
